Great Britain U18 Women have won the bronze medal at the Under-18 Women’s World Championship Division I Group B after a final-day 4-2 victory over Netherlands U18 Women in Dumfries. Four Bracknell players featured for GB throughout the tournament (Lucy, Ellie, Emily and Jessie) with Emma unfortunately getting injured the day before the tournament began.
GB, who were the tournament’s fifth seeds, began with a 2-1 overtime defeat by Poland before losing 3-0 to France.
A dramatic sudden-death penalty-shot victory over second seeds Norway was followed by a 1-0 win over China. GB's win over Netherlands secured them the Bronze Medal.
Well done to GB on their Bronze and we are so proud of the Bracknell girls! Huge testament to the UK's junior and women's programs, it was clear to see there was a lot of talented young women on display this week for GB!
You can catch 3 of our bronze medal winners (Lucy, Ellie, Emily) in action this coming weekend vs. Solihul Vixens - 19th January at Bracknell.
