Queen Bees 5 - 3 Guildford: Match Report

Queen Bees cement their place at the top of the Elite League Table.

The Queen Bees headed to Guildford to take on the Lightning for the first time this season. Prior to the game, the Queen Bees in were sat in first place with 15 points, Guildford in second place with 14 points.

Guildford broke the deadlock at 12.11 leaving the Queen Bees trailing going into the break. They scored again to make it 2-0 at 25.27. The Queen Bees didn't take long to make their come back with a goal from Cartwright at 28.05, followed by goals in quick succession from Harris and Byrom (31.22 and 32.44). This also marked Hannah Byrom's first goal as a Queen Bee since joining the club in the summer!

The Queen Bees went into the third period up 3-2, and the momentum continued with a further two goals added to the tally from Laffitte and Newman (43.11 and 49.40) . Guildford did manage to shorten the deficit to 5-3 with less than two minutes to go but it wasn't enough, and the Queen Bees took the 2 points.

This marked the Queen Bees 8th win of the season from their first 9 games. The Queen Bees stay top of the league with 17 points and one game in hand on second placed Guildford.

Player of the game was Ellie Wakeling.
