Queen Bees v Diamonds

Queen Bees v Diamonds

With a 17.15 away game in Hull it had already been a long weekend for some of the Queen Bees. Player/Coach Natz Aldridge was already up north as she was coaching the England Girls on Friday night. Kim Lane, Leanne Ganney, Louise Adams, Chrissy Newman and Lauren Summers had spent all day Saturday at the Great Britain Women's Camp along with Hull players Nicole Jackson, Holly Cornford, Beth Scoon and CJ Ashton. The camp consisted of off ice fitness testing and high ropes team bonding.

Queen Bees took to the ice (the very hard ice) and from the when the puck dropped both teams tried to take the lead, with end to end hockey. However only 3.05 into the first period Alice Lamb got the pass off to Chrissy Newman who got the puck into Hulls net. No penalties were called in the first period.

After the 5 minute turnaround the second period started. Queen Bees went into the second period with storm, Leanne Ganney got the puck and used her speed to get to the net, she then was tripped by Hulls Beth Scoon but Ganney didn't let this affect her shot and put it past Jackson. Goal scored at 22.02 which resulted in Scoon not having to sit her penalty.

The third period soon came around and it was still all to play for. Both teams placing the puck on the net but Bonathan and Jackson kept the red light off.
In the last 8 minutes of the game, both teams picked up the pace. Hulls Scoon and Cornford got off their shots from the point without any luck. Alice Lamb took one for the team and blocked a hard shot and kept the puck out.

Shots on Goal
Nicole Jackson: 36
Sam Bonathan: 31
